From the Tiffany & Co. Atlas collection, this sterling silver ring pairs three softly ribbed bands with a rounded open buckle that wraps the front of the finger. Polished edges play against the satin grooves between them, and the inside of the band is signed by Tiffany.

Tiffany introduced Atlas in the mid-1990s, taking its name from the Atlas clock that has watched over the company's doors since the 1850s. Alongside the well-known Roman numeral designs, the collection included cleaner sculptural pieces like this one, which read far more modern than their age suggests.

Provenance

Founded in New York in 1837, Tiffany & Co. launched its Atlas collection in 1995, inspired by the figure of Atlas holding the clock above its flagship entrance. This ring is stamped Tiffany & Co., 925 and c 1995, marking it as one of the first-generation sterling Atlas pieces. The ribbed open-buckle design is one of the less commonly seen Atlas styles.
