This is a beautiful Art Deco W&H Co. Embossed Locket with Paste Rhinestones.

Wightman & Hough Co. (W & H CO.) was established in 1856. Operating in Providence, Rhode Island, they manufactured a variety of gold-filled, rolled gold, and sterling silver jewelry. Each piece was hallmarked with their signature stamp: a heart containing the initials "W&H CO" inside. They were especially known for their lockets, medallions, and seals, and continued production up through the early Art Deco era (ca1922).

This locket has a lovely floral design on the front with blue paste stones. The inside of the locket has the original frame for one side and holds 2 photos. It is marked W&H Co. The reverse of locket does have some minor wear which is not unusual for a antique piece and is commensurate with age.

We have attached this locket to a 18" sterling silver chain with gold overlay, to give it a modern day feel.
